Energy Saving Control Method of Electrical Drives in Coveyor Belts with Regulated Speed in Surface Brown Coal Mine

In the paper energy saving control method of motors in double drum front station drive of conveyor belt with regulated belt speed is presented. The used control method assures equal load of all motors in static as well as dynamic states. Furthermore, proposed control method assures the work of the squirrel cage motors with equal slip. In the drive, high efficient low voltage squirrel cage motors fed by means of field oriented controlled frequency converters, supplied from IT mains (3×500V), were used. The proposed solution has been successfully used in coal conveying system on the new polish opencast “Drzewce” in the “Konin” brown coal mine in the year 2006.
