A new concept of hydraulic mechanized supports resistant to the crumps

Author: S. Gumuła

A subject of the lecture is a description of construction and results of experimental investigations of device called an energy accumulation and diffusion converter (EADC).

The device gives a possibility of rapid braking and prevention of equipment and mechanical vehicles against collision results by reducing of stroke forces with simultaneous restriction of associated inertia forces in these processes.

The operating of these kind of equipment consists of conversion of progressive movement kinetic energy of vehicle into kinetic energy of mechanical accumulator rotational movement.

The mechanical accumulator takes over the kinetic energy of vehicle through a gear. In the case of collision the gear is set motion due a force of run obstacle if appears the braking due to subgrade reaction forces.

The investigations have been carried out on model vehicles of about 10 kg mass and real vehicles (cars) of about 1000 kg mass.

One obtained many times lower maximum value of vehicle stroke force against the obstacle and inertia force generating during the collision compared with the same forces in the case when bumping vehicle was without the bumper with energy conversion.

The equipment could be applied as the safety device of hydraulic mechanized shield supports against crumping results and protection of vertical hoisting and mining haulage in different kind of failures.
