Surface subsidence and rate of its increaments based on measurements and theory

Author: A. Kowalski

The paper contains an analysis of investigations in to surface subsidence above a mined longwall coal-face.

It is based on the results of surveys, in the context of the defined parameters of the Budryk-Knothc theory, comparison of measured and calculated deformation values and the prediction of the rate of the variable subsidence of the surface consequent upon face advance and stoppages, with the use of a new general time function.
