Contribution to the problem of frame clear interval determination of rectangular steel support

The study presents compact calculation methods regarding clear interval between rectangular support frames.

Two-prop, three-prop and four-prop supports were taken into consideration.

All final tormulac were reduced to the simplest forms, what has an influence on the reduction of the calculation time.

When knowing the value of the rock mass pressure, the selection of suitable ftamc clear interval takes merely several minutes.

The study consists of two parts: a) derivation of formulae for individual types of support, b) methodology of selection of frame clear interval.
