Temperature and humidity of air in mining galleries with auxiliary exhaust ventilation

Author: B. Nowak

This work presents the problem of chages in temperature and humidity of mining air in dead end headings ventilated by an exhaust ventilation system.

Using the principle of conservation of mass and energy of airflow in such a heading a mathematical model for changes in a function of time and current co-ordinate of temperature and humidity of air has been obtained.

This model is a set of six equations.

Four of them are partial differential ones of the first order describing time and spatial chages in thermodynamic parameters of air in a heading and in a duct line.

The remaining two equations are a set of two ordinary differential ones describing the rate of changes in temperature and humidity of air a dead end gallery.

For practical purposes it is enough to know the changes in a function of current co-ordinate of temperature and humidity of airflow in the dead end heading under consideration.

Therefore the model obtained has been simplified only to a steady state.
